I have known Swami Tattvarupananda for about ten years and have tremendous respect for his integrity, compassion & learning. So when he invited me to visit JJK Gurukulam (for boys) near Thiruvananthapuram I jumped at the opportunity. I was a guest there for only two days but loved every minute of my stay. I was impressed with the overall balance of the Gurukulam. It was scrupulously clean and well organized, though still warm and homely; the boys followed a rigorous schedule of study and chores, but still had time for fun and games; they were disciplined but also lively and curious about the world around them. Above all, the boys were receiving both a normal academic background and a firm foundation upon which to build their spiritual lives. I left feeling that although the boys come from poor backgrounds, they are being given a unique education and richer opportunities than many supposedly more privileged children thanks to Swami T and his dedicated team. Well done! I am sure the girls at the new Gurukulam near Thrissur will be equally blessed.
